Got the lunch special lasagna with chicken. Service was fast and reliable, food was delicious, amazing price. Rolls were awesome, water just tasted kind of funky but it's no big deal. Atmosphere and music was pretty cool. Will definitely be going back!

Thank you, Yelp, for making our trek across Kansas much more enjoyable. We wandered off I-70 at Junction City and found your review. It's a great little Italian restaurant with delicious specials.

We stayed in Junction city overnight on our way to Las Vegas. Found this place based on reviews and consulted the hotel staff as well. We found the food excellent, portions large, and the service quick and professional. It was not upscale dining, but a little more upscale than casual / family dining. Prices were extremely reasonable. I had tortellini in a pink sauce that was truly yummy and my wife had a baked sampler consisting of manicotti, lasagna and ravioli. We would go there again without hesitation.

Great service. And staff is outstand. Amazing food all the way around portion sizes are great . Prices $$

Good food. Good service in a small town. Reasonable prices! Lasagna, veal parmigiano and spaghetti with meat sauce have all been good. Lunch specials are reasonably priced and good as well.

Very sweet group of people , the food was affordable and delicious . we liked it very much. The house dressing was very very good! I am speaking of the manhattan ks location .

  • John K.

Stunning.. Amazing... Shocked. This is on par with restaurants in NY and San Diego. Do not let the exterior fool you.. This is some of the best there is. I had the sampler with garlic bread and was full and amazed at the flavor appearance and texture. Shocked in the best possible way . Authentic and perfect.

Absolutely the best restaurant in JC. Totally apropriate for a date you care about. The food is delicious, and the kids meals are plentiful. Our waitress Monica was very friendly and courteous. She made our experience that much better. Other than my girl checking out the wine dude all went a lot better than i expected. Just kidding about my girl, i think.

The best by far!!!!!! You will never find better authentic Italian food in Kansas, or for that matter in the Midwest.

A nice change for Junction City. The food is pretty good and the staff is very friendly. Prices are a little on the high end but most italian places are.

Bella's Italian restaurant is family owned. Great atmosphere and friendly service, food is above average and prices are average. A deftly must try, I hear there opening one in Manhattan soon

We came through town planning to eat BBQ, but thought this place looked interesting. Very nice atmosphere in an old downtown building. I tried the Chicken Gorgonzola lunch special and it was excellent - except for the dried tomatoes were a bit chewy. Husband had a Phillycheesesteak and said it very good. We'll definitely have to come back.

  • LisanJoe M.

Great good and service! We had bruschetta (good)! I had the chicken Marsala (awesome) and my husband had the chicken linguini with added artichokes! Best Italian food we have had since our cruise! The overall price was affordable! The service was very good! Highly recommend!

  • Radon D.

It depends on what you order, but the specials usually have more authentic flavoring. I suggest trying something you find difficult to pronounce in the protein category of your choice. The complementary rolls are fresh baked. The tiramisu is homemade and really good.

Great food. Only problem I had was I asked for a kids meal end up getting the adult meal and being charged for it. Other then that the food is great and the place was amazing inside.

  • Dan A.

Surprisingly good! Friendly service and better quality than average (Olive Garden) around here. My Pasta Sampler was piping hot with rich flavors, and my wife's spaghetti and meatballs had a somewhat more sweet sauce than she preferred, but it all tasted like it came out of a kitchen, not a bottle. The bruschetta and cheesy garlic bread looked like someone had laid out a sandwich bun and sprinkled oil, garlic salt, and cheese on it - not up with the main dishes in terms of quality. Serving sizes were reasonable, as were the prices (around $8 for the pasta entrees), but things like bread and salad are not included. Definitely worth a try. Certainly one of the nicest ambiances I've experienced in Junction City, combined with good food.

taste and quality of food: 8/10 service: 6/10 size of portion: 4/10 the food was alright, not omg amazing but somewhat good, the portion of the food wasnt worth the price..and the service sucked around the time i went..the italian owner kept cursing and yelling at his employees it made me lose my appetite..and the waitress didnt know her place she kept complimenting my girl and i for being a cute gay couple..not that theres anything wrong with that but have some Etiquette atleast.

Wow. Very surprising to have such a great Italian restaurant in a small town. Beats 90% of Italian restaurants that I visited in my life time. Even big cities best resturant would have a hard time competing with this place. A bit humbling place as far as infrastructure but I think that adds to the charm of the small city. Prices seems a bit high. A family night is very expensive, but great for couples date. I definitely stop by again.

We stopped at Bella's because we were in the mood for good Italian food!!!! We called ahead to order because we were just passing through!!! The food was very good , very flavorful !!!! The last place we ate in Jackson hole Wyoming wasn't good!!! It was awesome to see that it is family owned !!!

Traveling through Kansas this was a good stop to recharge the palate, The food was very good, portions were fine and the staff was very polite. It was only two of us and the ratings made the restaurant seem run down but it was very clean and a nice quiet atmosphere to have a great meal....which we did!

  • Stephanie C.

Food was decent but the waitress was extremely rude. She acted as though we were wasting her time with our questions about the food. When we asked about getting garlic bread, she got defensive and rudely said "I have to wait"... Not sure what that meant, as we had gotten all of our food, my husband asked if it came with the meal. She again was rude and defensive and with an attitude said they were in the oven. This could have been said earlier to avoid the conflict but instead she decided to attack us. She quickly walked away and returned not even a min later with rolls, dropped them onto the table and rudely rushed away, ignoring my sincere "thank you". The rolls were cold and most definitely not fresh from the oven. We then asked to speak to the manager and explained to him that our server was beyond rude. He apologized and said he would be our waiter for the rest of the evening. He was very apologetic and attentive. After our meal he said he was going to comp our meal as he was sorry our experience and the atmosphere set by the waitress had ruined our dinner. He then dropped off our bill for the martinis we had and we gave him our card. When he returned with our receipt we saw they had charged us for not only our drinks but our entire meal that he claimed would be comp'd. In my opinion this place has little integrity and does not hire respectable people. Whether the waitress was having a bad day or maybe we just struck a bad cord- her attitude towards us was uncalled for, especially after we were nothing but polite to her. And for the manager to tell us our meal was comp'd and then charge us for everything was also a sign of lack of integrity and disrespect for the customer.

Bella's in Junction City is the best Italian food in the city period, this also includes their sister restaurant in Manhattan. The food and service have always been beyond good when I've stopped off for a bite to eat. This isn't a gluten free, farm raised, organic, hipster joint either, it is old school Italian-American red sauce and pasta. The classics are there, Lasagna, Spaghetti Bolognese, vodka sauce with mushrooms and chicken, Penna and the best Tiramisu I've had in a long time, the gelato, and ricotta cheesecake are also favorites. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone asking for a hearty meal in the JC and Manhattan area!

We ate lunch here, it had a great atmosphere and the food was delicious the service was good and located in the scenic part of downtown if you're looking to wine and dine a special someone this restaurant would be great For a romantic setting, yet still casual enough for two guys to eat spaghetti on the rush.

  • Jeff And Lori A.

I had the Veal Marsalla and Lori had the Chicken Parm. The food is good and has that local family owned feel to it. This is exactly what it seems to be. Well priced good food and the service was even better. We will be back.

I don't like Olive Garden, but I like Bella's. Junction City is lucky to have this little gem!

Been here twice so far... Their garlic bread is delicious! My husband and I both ordered a calzone and it was bigger than I thought! It was really good and really cheesy, which was our favorite part. Service was ok, one of the ladies grabbed us the wrong beer and the second time we were there one of the girls asked if he needed more time to think of what we wanted to eat and we said yes.... She was back at our table literally a minute after... She did that twice... So I felt rushed... I noticed most Italian restaraunts like Bella's have very dim lights and I just think it be nice to see what you're actually putting in your mouth... Just saying.. But overall it was ok.

  • Connie L.

Bella's started out as a great place to go when they first arrived. But over time the quality of the food and service distinctly declined. Our last two meals there, all 3 of us ended up very sick and with horrid heartburn from the very overly garlicky food. The taste and care was gone from the dishes, and no thought or effort put into the meals as they transitioned from fresh items to frozen, pre-prepped foods. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go, even as friendly as the staff can be, because the food quality and flavor is shot.

My Husband and I just moved to the area about a month ago, and I must say that this restaurant is our favorite! Everything from the service, the atmosphere, to the food is absolutely wonderful! The prices are very reasonable, and to be honest...we'd pay more for the quick service, smiling staff and delicious food! This is by far the best Italian restaurant I've personally ever been to. Kudos to Bella's!

  • Shaner P.

Horrible! Read the bad reviews, they are dead on. Bruschetta is garlic cheese bread with tomatoes. Hard to believe, but no good. Food from freezer section tastes better. Chicken marsala was seriously gross! This makes Olive Garden look like the best restaurant ever. Don't waste your money. Never will I return.

Wonderful food and great service. Waitress was a delight. Had the veal parm and the chicken parm, both were delicious. Would definitely return!

Went here for a friend's birthday dinner and thought "hey, there aren't any other Italian restaurants in Junction so why not try it." Im also Sicilian, so when I saw "family owned, Blah blah" I figured it was going to be good. I ended up getting some gross food and horrible treatment. I ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer.. Where I'm from bruschetta isn't cheesy garlic bread with some tomato (barely any) sprinkled on. When I asked if this was bruschetta, the waitress said "uh yeah that's how we've always made it" and she went and got her manager.. Once again I asked "this is bruschetta?! Because my family made this dish almost daily and usually it is crustini topped tomato and basil and garlic, some olive oil and balsamic" and he said "that's how we have made it since we have opened, if you google it, you'll see it's made like this" he was super rude.. so I did Google it, and no where did I see what he put in front of me. I asked if I could have it taken off of my bill because this wasn't bruschetta.. He was super rude and agreed to take it off my bill eventually. Then I got my fettuccine Alfredo. It was covered in sauce to the point where I couldn't even taste anything else but cream.. The noodles were almost non existent under all that sauce. I've had better Alfredo out of a can honestly. Maybe I'm just spoiled with my grandparents who immigrated from Italy's cooking.. But this was horrible, Olive Garden has better food.. And the best part.. I asked them to sing for my friends birthday and I assumed that meant they would give her something like a scoop of ice cream.. Anything! Nope.. They sang to her and didn't bring her anything.. Who does that?! We were laughing our asses off at how stupid that was. I will never come here again. At least the waitresses were nice. But that's about it. Go to Manhattan to Olive Garden if you want better and cheaper food honestly..

C and I each ordered one of the two specials. Both meals were very good. Better than expected. Also, the server asked if we minded if they began to clean up early (it was 45 minutes before closing). We were in the midst of our dinner. I said okay, depending on what "cleaning" involved and expressed concern about vacuuming. The server (a very polite guy) assured us that they were simply going to clean the tables on the opposite side of the restaurant. Well, it turned out that they removed the tables from between all the booths and aggressively swept out each booth area. i.e. a dusty and annoying operation, considering that we were in the midst of dinner. I guess I should have simply objected to "cleaning." I've learned my lesson. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean and looks relatively new. Sadly, any chance of a romantic feeling is lost because of the lighting, which is rather even throughout. The trick for ambiance is dramatic lighting. Points of light here and there, not rows of bulbs that toss light out in every direction. But there I go trying to re-design the place. Service: Good to very good insofar as attentiveness and helpfulness. However the server needs to know that when pouring wine, he should pour about 2 or 3 fingers. Pouring wine to 1/4 inch of the rim is a no-no. Cuisiune: 4 stars

Courtesy Bread not fresh. Probably frozen product. Marinara sauce was the best part of the meal with spaghetti and meatballs and chicken Parmesan. Passable for the price point. Service was quick and professional. Showed review to staff before posting. Very professional response was greatly appreciated.

This place is a diamond in the rough in this area of Kansas. You wouldn't expect it from the outside but the atmosphere is nice and the food is amazing. I went there for lunch one day and am going back soon for a date with my husband and some friends.

After the enormous disappointment of Napoli's closing down, Junction City has needed an Italian restaurant. And Bella's doesn't disappoint. It isn't the best Italian I've ever had, but nowhere close to the worst. And it's a much needed restaurant in Junction. Hopefully more to come.

    (5)
  • Anna R.

I felt The place was clean. Prices were okay. But the lasagna was extremely cheesy and bruschetta ,just bread with cheese and a few tomatoes. Maybe one step up from a TV dinner. The staff was friendly.

If you've never tasted real Italian food or better yet fresh mozzarella, basil, or Roma tomatoes then you would love this place. Starting from the beginning, I walked in for lunch it was cold, like they didn't pay their heating bill cold. The entire time I didn't take my jacket off, the hub did but he sat there freezing the "manly way," you know, trying shake it off and not complain too much. Anyways, I had the Stromboli and the hubby had the chicken marsala. I don't know about the hubby's dish I only tasted a little piece of chicken which had decent flavor but I can't comment on the pasta. My Stromboli was freshly made though the pepperoni used was store bought like the Armor brand pepperoni I say this because it was thin and small and I recognized it. Another thing, I've tasted fresh mozzarella and homemade tomato sauce with fresh herbs before, having eaten at authentic Italian restaurants in Italy and Germany- hell even Raleigh, North Carolina was decent but this place was mediocre as the ingredients were not fresh and I'm talking homemade mozzarella. Seriously, I could have done it better at home using fresh ingredients. The total amount for our meal without drinks was above $20, I will not be returning. This place gets 1 star because the service was friendly but we are paying for friendly are we? Ugh your better off going to Olive Garden for warmth.

My daughter and I were surprised to find homemade Italian food in the wilds of Kansas. We ordered two different specials and were not disappointed. The wait staff was polite, wine was available by the glass and we left with smiles on our faces.

Food is pretty good and prices are decent. The bruschetta is basically cheesy garlic bread with a sprinkle of a tomato mixture. While good, it was bit bruschetta. We will be back.

  • Rick C.

Popped in for a quick dinner and I was very impressed with the food and the service. I had the tilapia which was delicious, very lightly breaded and accompanied by spaghetti noodles. The lemon-caper sauce was light and flavorful. Very well done! Great service, I felt like the staff was helpful, happy to serve and very friendly. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu. Definitely 4.5 stars!

What a treat to find Bella's in Junction City, Kansas! My wife and I have had the pleasure of dining on authentic Italian cuisine in Milan, Venice, and Rome, and can verify that Bella's food is the real deal. Additionally, the portions are large, and the value for the money is incredible. Next time we drive through Kansas, we'll look forward to stopping in again.

I like their food a lot hopefully they will keep the good quality, it happens a lot in JC with restaurants that are good and then they lose quality. It is very clean and they have good service.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
